If you leave: deregister, pension and final tax
Overview
Leaving is its own checklist.
The question you never knew to ask“What happens to our pension and tax if we leave Switzerland?”
Why it matters
Deregistering, your pension fund and your final tax each have their own steps. Ask your commune what deregistering involves and when to do it.
Does this apply to me?
Your circumstances: Canton Bern, B permit, mixed nationalities, family with children, moving with a partner, arriving soon
It applies to every household moving to Switzerland.
When?
Before you give notice on your apartment.
What do I need?
- Your lease termination
- Your pension fund statement
What do I do next?
- Deregister at your commune before you go.
- Ask your pension fund and the AHV what your options are when you leave.
- Ask your canton's tax office about your final tax.
- Ask your health insurer what it needs to end your cover.
